Liepaja, Holy Trinity church

Year: 1885, originally built by H.A. Contius in 1779, several changes and extensions in 1844, 1849, 1863, 1867, 1871. In 1874 extended to 77 stops by C. Hermann, finally extended to 131 stops by B. Grüneberg.

   This particular organ really is an extraordinary instrument, not only because of its size. Grüneberg, with all his respect to works of old masters, extended it to 131 stops by adding brand new cone windchests containing ca. 75 stops. He left old parts (windchests and pipes) almost unchanged, changing only this, what was necessary, i.e. by adding Barker's machine for Hauptwerk and new bellows located inside tower, powered by steam engine. Extended instrument for the first time speak to the public on 1st of December 1885.
